Me Time
Me Time is part of my exhibition series “Intimate Moments of Girlhood,” presented at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair 2025, which explores private, unfiltered expressions of femininity. This illustration portrays a South Asian woman reclining in solitude, smoking sheesha — an act traditionally viewed as taboo or masculine in South Asian culture. By reclaiming this ritual for herself, she embodies confidence, sensuality, and independence.
The warm tones of deep pink and purple evoke an atmosphere of mature femininity and desire, while the stylized vector detailing emphasizes both strength and softness. In her own space, without the male gaze, she indulges in self-care and self-expression — redefining what it means to feel feminine, powerful, and free.
