Inspired by Sindhi Ajrak Patterns, here is an animated digital pattern created in Illustrator and Photoshop, consisting of symbols from 4 South Asian countries. Each country is represented through its national flower: Pakistan - Jasmine, India - Lotus, Nepal - Rhodendron, Bangladesh - Water Lily. Flowers are an essential symbol integrated deeply into South Asian culture. It represents beauty, versatility, diversity as well as spiritually. Having the four flowers dancing together, amongst the roots, creates unity amongst the nations, whilst celebrating each of their own individualities. The spinning is supposed to create a hallucinogenic effect on the viewer, bringing them into a trance. This creates a spiritual connection with the audience.
